Fairbanks Arts October Exhibition: 35th Annual 64th Parallel Juried Exhibition

Join Fairbanks Arts in the Bear Gallery for our October exhibition, the 35th Annual 64th Parallel Juried Exhibition. This exhibition features artwork by Interior Alaskan artists selected by this year’s juror, Jenny Day.

Jenny Day is a painter and sculptor who lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She earned an MFA in Painting from the University of Arizona, a BFA in Painting from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of California Santa Cruz. She has exhibited around the world and is represented by Jonathan Ferrara Gallery in Louisiana, and William Havu Gallery in Colorado.

64th Parallel  is on view in the Bear Gallery from October 1–28, 2021. The gallery will be open from 12–7 pm on Friday, October 1 for the opening day. For the rest of the month, join us Monday–Saturday, 12–6 pm. Visitors are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing, and the gallery currently has a 15-guest limit in place.

Jenny will also be giving an artist talk and professional development workshop, both of which require online pre-registration as there will be a cap of 20 attendees for each event. The artist talk is a free event and will be held Monday, September 27 at 7 pm in the Blue Room in the Alaska Centennial Center for the Arts. It will be streamed on Facebook Live for those unable to attend in person. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 5:30 pm in the Blue Room and will cost $10 for Fairbanks Arts members and $15 for non-members. Both events require attendees to wear masks.
