Fairbanks Arts is pleased to present an outdoor literary reading with Christine Byl and Erica Watson! This free event will start at 5:30 pm at the Pioneer Park gazebo near Gold Rush town. Christine Byl is the author of Dirt Work: An Education in the Woods, a book about trail crews, tools, wildness, gender, and labor. In 2014 it was shortlisted for the Willa Award in nonfiction. Erica Watson earned her MFA in creative nonfiction at the UAA in 2014. Her writing focuses on community, climate change, and human interactions with natural and built environments, and has appeared in several print and online publications in recent years. Be sure to stay after the reading for Kit Carson, our Gazebo Nights performer, who will take the stage at 7 p.m. playing everything from rock n roll, jazz, blues, and folk!
