Michelle Bailey presents “In Honor Of” in the UAF Art Gallery from Monday, April 8, 2023 through Friday, April 19, 2024 featuring Native American beadwork, regalia, clothing, and jewelry, with an opening reception on April 11 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Michelle Bailey is a Choctaw artist with a passion for Native American beadwork, regalia, clothing, and jewelry. Her goal is to find a place where traditional and modern designs can coalesce. Bailey describes her work as “a heartfelt homage to the timeless traditions and vibrant cultures of Indigenous peoples. Whether designing intricate beadwork or working with precious metals to create jewelry, each piece carries the imprint of my ancestors’ teachings and the unique perspective of my own journey.”

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Art Gallery is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will also be open for the opening reception on April 11th from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.
