In nature, weather changes by the minute, seasons by the month, climate by the decade. Nowhere are these shifts more recognizable than in the flow of the water cycle. When precipitation starts to fall, rivers freeze up, or glaciers retreat, we notice - and often respond.
With this in mind and a sketchbook in tow, Jill Richie spent the last year documenting ephemeral scenes and textures within Alaska’s water cycle. These sketches became the framework for Flow, a collection of paintings that invite us to consider our similarities with water.
