SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

STATUS: Professional; 30–40 hours per week. 

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a proactive and organized Senior Accountant to lead our accounting department and report to the Administration Manager. The ideal candidate will carry out accounting functions to best support our project managers and the business office. This role is perfect for someone with strong accounting experience, multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a desire to leverage software to enhance accounting systems and processes. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage ABR’s invoice processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. 

  • Maintain and review cost reporting systems to ensure their timeliness and accuracy.

  • Assists in preparing periodic and annual financial plans, forecasts, and cash flow projections.

  • Prepare journal entries and review accounting classification in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Reconcile accounts including reviewing and reconciling bank and other financial statements to resolve discrepancies.

  • Track expenses and ensure timely processing. 

  • Perform data entry and update internal and external databases, including those for clients and vendors.

  • Assist with timekeeping and payroll processing. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • BS/BA in Finance, Business Management, or similar + 4 years of experience

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper/accountant or in a similar role.

  • Familiarity with accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, timekeeping, and GAAP principles.

  • Basic knowledge of consulting or project-based organizations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and office management software.

  • Experience with professional accounting software such as Intacct, Unanet, or other ERP systems. 

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

WAGE AND BENEFITS: $38+ per hour, depending on experience, with a generous benefits package and flexible work model.
